The Florida West Arts PERFORMING ARTISTS have demonstrated an advanced level of talent.
During the 2009-2010 season, the performing artists will be featured at the all new Florida West Arts state of the art visual and performing arts gallery at Bonita Commons in Bonita Springs Florida. Most of them also perform throughout Southwest Florida and beyond, and they are available for concerts, community celebrations, private parties and other venues.
In addition, as in the past, Florida West Arts will once again partner with community performing arts groups to present a series of performing and multimedia arts events. For the new season there will be “ARTS PARTNERSHIPS” similar to those during the 2008-2009 when Florida West Arts partnered with the Southwest Florida Symphony in presenting “The Artist Within….A Prelude to Spring”. This event included an art exhibition and a concert featuring members of the Symphony’s Youth Orchestra. As the performers played classical music, a Florida West Arts artist painted in synergy with the music. Also, in November and December last season, a number of community choirs and chorales performed holiday favorites during the opening receptions of Florida West Arts fine art exhibitions.
Our performing artist members represent a variety of styles, talents and types including jazzy flutes and violins; an eclectic fusion of European, Latin and American music; Blues, R & B, Rock and Roll, and Disco; Classics and Contemporary; and periods all the way from the 1920’s to today.
